MACE exists to enrich the life and experience of the east and west midlands by collecting and preserving its moving image culture and history and making it widely accessible.
MACE is the recognised body responsible for collecting, preserving and making accessible the moving image heritage of the East and West Midlands. MACE is keen to collect film, videotape and other moving image material which relates in any way to the Midlands. It may show scenes in the Midlands, or it may have been made by organisations or people based in the Midlands. MACE is also interested in information and other material relating to film making and peoples experiences of the moving image in the region.
Saturday 11 February MACE, the BBC, Birmingham Central Library and Birmingham City Archives are pooling their resources for an event called The Archive and You.
There will be two screenings of MACE films in the cinema at the Library, material that will also be shown on the BBC’s Big Screen in Chamberlain Square. In addition there will be two workshops about film making as well as opportunities to talk about any film that you have. If you’re interested please contact MACE at:
